Hack The Hospital

Online and in-person hackathon editions to improve hospitalised paediatric patients’ lives.

Methodologies:
Design Thinking + Design Futures

Outcomes:
Creative, technology-driven, and user-experience-centered solutions, with a strong emphasis on storytelling and engagement.

These hackathons counted with LIVE feedback sessions from:
• Ex-paediatric patients
• Families from the hospitals
• Hospital caregivers
• External board of mentors
(technologists, entrepreneurs, designers and innovators)

An immersive hospital experience transforming the patient rooms into a spaceship.

The project recreates a space mission with astronaut-themed pajamas for patients and staff, an adaptive smart panel for lighting, and an AI-powered robotic dog, Aibo, providing companionship, health monitoring, and age-appropriate interaction to make hospital stays more engaging and comforting.
